The northern part of The Lyngen Alps.

Sunday 18th. of february: Working saturdays sucks, especially when sun is shinin' and reports of excessive amounts of pow keeps pouring into my sms inbox. So I decided to avoid a da capo on my class act last weekend as both Cpt. Jack Sparrow and his friend Captain Morgan(... not sure which of the captains I was the most, probably evenly distributed... with a little bias towards the latter). Strangely enough, I only had a few beers at the usual "bøtt nedpå"-party at M. Uhrdahl's and went home relatively early. Altough me, Marius and Helge a.k.a Svelge agreed to get home and up early to go touring, some of us put on a respectable effort to help Cirka(local pub) get rid of their stock of yeast-containing liquids.

Me, Helge, Marius, Ørjan andTorfinn headed for Ringvassøya and Nordfjellet sunday morning. Snow seemed a little sketchy and cardboard-like and no pow to be seen. Fortunatley snow got better the higher we got. Our inital plan was to ski a chute, but after some C.S.I snowdigging we found the pack right there to be too unstable to take the risk. We found another slope with a lot more stable snow to rip instead. With pow on it.
