For new viewers

Found an old video from when me and Marius a.k.a The Hand skied Småtind (a.k.a Djeveltanna, Deviltooth etc.). Think it's from march o5(?). Enjoy. Btw, the soundtrack is a Röyksopp remixed version of "Don't what I can save you from" by Kings of Convenience.

Hangover touring

The northern part of The Lyngen Alps.

Sunday 18th. of february: Working saturdays sucks, especially when sun is shinin' and reports of excessive amounts of pow keeps pouring into my sms inbox. So I decided to avoid a da capo on my class act last weekend as both Cpt. Jack Sparrow and his friend Captain Morgan(... not sure which of the captains I was the most, probably evenly distributed... with a little bias towards the latter). Strangely enough, I only had a few beers at the usual "bøtt nedpå"-party at M. Uhrdahl's and went home relatively early. Altough me, Marius and Helge a.k.a Svelge agreed to get home and up early to go touring, some of us put on a respectable effort to help Cirka(local pub) get rid of their stock of yeast-containing liquids.

Me, Helge, Marius, Ørjan andTorfinn headed for Ringvassøya and Nordfjellet sunday morning. Snow seemed a little sketchy and cardboard-like and no pow to be seen. Fortunatley snow got better the higher we got. Our inital plan was to ski a chute, but after some C.S.I snowdigging we found the pack right there to be too unstable to take the risk. We found another slope with a lot more stable snow to rip instead. With pow on it.

Search And Rip

"Fight the powder". Skier: Marius O. Larsen.

7th. of february: Me, Gustav the swedish hucker and Marius ignored reports of poor snow along with things to do at uni, and went for a search and rip mission on Storsteinnestind. Fortune would have it we found a bowl hidden away from the raging winds of the arctic. Hence the pic above, we found pow to rip.

As you can see, life is good up north.

Downtime

Hi, due to some unfortunate mishaps with my computer it's been a little while since my last post. My computer has been sent in for repairs for the 2nd. time in 2 years, which in my opinion is 2 times too many. Advice: don't by laptops from ECS Elitegroup, do a google search and you'll find plenty of people with screen/videocard problems with their sample. I for one will buy well known brands in the future. Hope it'll die one more time, 'cause in accordance with norwegian consumer legislation, you'll qualify for a new product in case of 3rd. time repairs for a repeating error. Well, this was maybe a little off-topic.

Anyways, I will be back very soon with a couple of tour reports and pics to document them.

C'ya
